Flourish is a health and wellness ministry that addresses an important need in our community – affordable, accessible health care.

The North Liberty area has not had a ministry like this, in which we match our call to care for one another with growing health care needs.

Since our first meeting on April 4, 2026, we have created a healing touch ministry, early creation of support groups, and blood pressure checks and are in the early stages of creating a Community Lending Library (CMLL).

Spiritually, we are guided by Matthew 25: 35-36:

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me."

We are in a special position to make this ministry happen because we have members willing to put their expertise into it. The expertise is medical doctor, nurses, psychologist, dentist, physical therapists, dietician, pharmacy, medical records, nurse education, building inspection, maintenance work, communication, grant writing, running a business; supplemented by Stephen Ministers and a praying congregation.

We are building emergency response teams, especially those equipped to work with UMCOR if a natural disaster were to hit our area. All of this is guided by planning meetings and volunteers who are ready to start operating as we develop.
